The child was approaching now, she could feel it. She had felt it for quite some time, but now the time was almost upon them. Poor child, so alone, in such a frightening land, it made Jadwiga smile. She liked travelers from afar, showed their determination, their bravery and their longing for knowledge or power. Oftentimes both. With a snap of her fingers the door flung open and the hut's legs bowed so that visitors may enter. Jadwiga kept stirring the big pot in front of her. Soon now, very soon. A turn and a step and the child would be here. And Baba Yaga would be ready for her.

Melody gasped as she neared the house, it's door resting open she knocked on the side hoping for an answer, "Hello..Baba Yaga?" she asked her voice trembling as she stepped forward into the house.

Jadwiga chuckled and closed the door harshly with another snap of her fingers. She enjoyed the effect the hut had on people. It was rather amusing to see people shudder so when faced with cheap tricks and harmless magic. Well, that part wasn't quite so true. No magic was ever truly harmless. "Enter," she told the girl as she kept her back to her, still stirring. "Surely you're not frightened of an old crone."

Letting out a gasp Melody covered her mouth with her hands, "N-No I-I'm not scared.." she walked forward father into the hut, "I-I was wondering if you could help me....I-I understand if you wish me to leave..."

"Not a very clever child are you, lying to a witch?" She said nonchalantly, pretending it didn't amuse her. Truth be told she didn't get many children visiting. Parents were smart to keep their children away from forest witches, specially one as powerful as her. Smart, indeed. "Why have you come?" she asked, disregarding her question about leaving. If she were willing to bail this early, perhaps the child wasn't worth her time.

".....I'm sorry" she muttered, "...I was wondering about my mother...who she is..that is" Melody rested on the wall of the hut, "Can you help me?"

"I can," she nodded carefully. "But will I? What can a sweet babe give me in return?" she asked with a wicked grin and turned to face Melody for the first time. Her hideous reputation was made worse only by her horrendous appearance, and she looked forward to the luck of fear and repulsion. There had been a time when that look had bothered her, but she could hardly remember those days. People were not likely to change, so it was far better to accept reality than to live in a fairytale. That seemed to be the problem with the world today, too many people still living in their fairytales.

Melody was so happy the woman's horrendous appearance hadn't affected her she grinned from ear to ear and clasped her hands together, "Oh! Anything! Anything!" she chanted, "...I'll do anything!"

"I'm in need of a golden flower that grows only at the highest peak in Fahret." The child would never be able to get it for her, not unless she grew wings. The waters around Fahret were the home of naiads, and a little girl on her own wouldn't stand a chance. Still, if a witch couldn't amuse herself sending poor children on lost quests after something she truly didn't even need if truth be told, well then what was a poor crone to do?

"Fahert?" Melody asked shoulders dropping she could never make it there and get the flower, but she wouldn't tell her that! "I'll get your flower!" she told her proudly, "....Anything else?"

[OOC: So sorry for the late reply, I completely forgot about this midst all the other roleplays >.<]
Never ask a bored witch if there's anything more. Jadwiga only smirked, showing off those rottening teeth. "Since you ask..." and I was about to let you go easy... "I also need a raven's feather." Ravens were a dying species these days. She wondered if Melody had even seen a raven this past year. And even if she had, how she would be able to catch one was beyond the knowledge of Jadwiga.
