Elsa gave a little smile again. She actually found herself feeling a little glad that Pitch wouldn't completely abandon her. Sometimes, talking to snow people all day could get a little boring. And it was nice to have somebody else who understood her. "I wonder what that says about me, that the closest thing I have to a friend is a nightmare," she said, more to herself than anything else.

"Well, you know what they say..keep your friends close and your enemies closer Elsa." he said. "You don't know if I could be a friend of an enemy." It was often hard to tell what exactly Pitch's motives were with anything. Sometimes it was just that way, and Pitch didn't mind

Elsa wasn't sure what to think about that. Was Pitch implying that he could hurt her if he wanted to, just stab her in the back and think nothing of it? No, she couldn't get paranoid about this. She came here to find some peace, not worry about the one person who was still talking to her. Her hands balled into fists, her palms starting to get covered in ice. Even though Elsa had been fine-tuning her powers for years, they still tended to pop out when she was nervous or anxious. Old habits took a while to die, and this was no exception. "I don't know if I would really consider you one way or the other," she replied. "You're more like...somewhere in the middle."

Pitch nodded, he had never seen it that way. In fact, most saw him as evil, not good. "That is a new impression. Most see me as evil. Though, I don't know why. I do nothing but bring them nightmares when it is needed. After all, it is boring to just have plain dreams all the time." He would never hurt Elsa, he had never thought about that. Maybe once, but now, well now it was different.

"Well, most people don't know you like I do," Elsa replied. Sure, most people saw Pitch as a scary nightmare that fed off of fears, and Elsa used to think of him that way too. But, lately, he had started to become something...different. She wasn't sure how much more would change, though. It wasn't like Pitch was going to get all chummy with her over night. That would involve him changing too much. And she wasn't exactly good in the "friends" department either.

"I guess I should thank you for that." he said with a tiny smile. "You have been the only one who has never seen me as a monster. And I thank you for that."

Elsa gave him a tiny smile back. "There's no need to thank me. I mean, you practically do the same for me. You don't see me as some weapon that can be used to kill people." It seemed like that was all people had seen her as, back in Briar Rose's kingdom. Or they had been afraid of her. Those were the only options she really had.

Pitch nodded, he understood where she was coming from. It felt...well nice to talk to Elsa again in not a strange way. "As I said, it is nice to see you again. It's been so long sicne I have seen someone I can call a friend, or even family."

Elsa actually felt a little touched at that. She hadn't had many friends in her life, and she had done fine without them in the past. But, maybe things would be a little better if she got a little closer to Pitch, close enough to actually call him a friend. Queens needed friends, after all. Her mother had had some, and her mother before her. Of course, Elsa knew she wasn't a real queen. She may live in a palace, but this wasn't her land. Her kingdom lay in the Western Kingdoms, populated by Briar Rose's scum. That made her blood boil, and sometimes, she felt like leaving her ice palace and going back to take her land back. But she knew she couldn't. Briar Rose would defeat her, imprison her again. And she couldn't bear to be a prisoner again, not when she had had her first taste of freedom in years. She suddenly looked up, realizing that she had gone silent. "Sorry. Got...lost in my thoughts for a moment," she said, feeling embarrassed.

"That is quite alright. You deserve to get lost in thoughts." he said. "Most people deserve it, it often it helps them think of what they wish to do." He said. A smile warm on his face. Normally, it was not something that happened very often. He was normally stubborn or serious, or the smile was mocking someone else. "Tell me, what do you plan on doing now?"

Well, at least Pitch didn't think she was too odd for that. She wondered if he got lost in his own thoughts sometimes, but thought that would be too weird to ask. Sure, she and Pitch were kind of friends, but they didn't delve into the touchy-feely stuff. "Staying here. That's all I know for sure," she replied. "I feel safe here, and far away from Briar Rose. And that makes me happy."

Pitch nodded. "And if Aurora's troops come here?" he asked. He certainly didn't think the queen was dumb enough to send her troops here quite yet. But eventually it would happen. "Will you stand and fight with the people down in the villages or stay here and protect your own skin?"

Elsa frowned. "Briar Rose wouldn't dare come here. Not now. She can't invade the Eastern Kingdoms when she hasn't taken over the Western ones yet." She suddenly stopped, realizing that that probably wasn't a sufficient answer for Pitch. If Briar Rose did come here, what would she do? Part of her still felt scared to death of her, and wanted to run away if she came within a hundred feet of the castle. But then, another part of her wanted to fight her, get revenge for all that she had done. The two emotions made her feel anxious. "I...I don't know," she replied, wringing her hands together.

Pitch nodded. "I suppose its too far to tell what you would do if it came to this." he replied. "My apologizes for worrying you about it. I believe that there are things that Queen Aurora has done to forget you. My nightmares tell me there is a new witch that she has taken to do her bidding." The nightmare frowned before speaking. "I have my ways of finding out these trivial things, the girl much like you doesn't believe in giving in though."
He was curious to find out what the queen's next move would be, she had already sent a bodyguard to speak on her behalf someone named Hans but that was nothing new or important to him.

Elsa's eyes widened slightly. "She's...found someone else?" Oh God. Her stomach churned just at the thought of that. Briar Rose had found some other poor soul to fashion into a weapon? She felt like an idiot for not thinking about that earlier. Of course Briar Rose would try to find someone to replace her. Elsa had been a great asset to her, and the queen wasn't about to just let that space remain empty. "Everyone has their limits, though," she replied, her arms wrapping around herself. "I had mine. And when Briar Rose pushed me hard enough, she got me to do what she wanted. She'll find this girl's weak spot and drive away at it until she obeys. That's what she's always done."
