She grinned up at him, "How about a compromise? What if I sleep on your floor? Surely that would be acceptable to you. I can't kick you out of your own house."

He pondered it for a moment, then smiled and nodded. "I guess that sounds fair." He patted his horse, then climbed onto her. He reached a hand down for Eris, "If I can give you a lift there?"

She smiles and accepts his hand, allowing him to help her onto the horse, "Thank you for being so kind. It's rare to find a man like you nowadays."

Joseph nodded a bit, "I get that a lot, but I'm not really sure they stay with me long enough to know me." He smiled a bit, then grabbed the mare's mane, kicking his heals back a bit and giving her the command to trot. She trotted a bit of the way, then he ordered her into a canter.

Eris gripped him tightly around his waist as the horse sped up and laughed as the wind rushed through her hair, loving the rush of adrenaline and the powerful feel of the horse under her.

Joseph couldn't help but smile at her laugh, finding it a bit different than her strong exterior. He rode Willow until the village came into view, then he slower her to a walk. He waited until he heard the distinct clattering sound of hoof against pavement, then stopped. He got off the mare and offered to help Eris off.

She accepted his help with a grin and hopped down with fluid grace, "I wish I was able to have a horse of my own," she said as she gently petted the horse's back.

Joseph smiled and took hold of the horse's muzzle, underneath it's chin. He lead the creature into the stable, then followed the path to the inn's entrance. "Why don't you get one?"

She smiled at him, "They need a permanent place to stay and I don't think I'll have one of those for quite some time. I don't plan on going back to that man."

Joseph nodded in understanding, leading the way into the inn. He ignored the keeper and headed up some stairs. His room happened to be the second door. He showed her into a small room with a decent bed and one dresser that doubled as a bedside table. "Well, it's not much."

She grinned at him, "It's a lot better than some places I've stayed, trust me." That was one of the few truths she told him.

He went over to the bed and took off a pillow and a blanket, handing them to her. "Let me know if you need anything else."

She grinned up at him, "Thank you, Joseph. I don't know why you're willing to help me, when so few would. But thank you."

He nodded, "You should get some rest." He suggested, moving to the bed. " (End thread?)
